FL5-track-monster

FL5 · Track Monster

Built for the lap, lived on the street.

The FL5 is already fast. What it needs for the track is precision — suspension that can be dialed to your driving style, chassis bracing for cleaner steering feel, and intake to keep the engine fed under sustained load. Chassis first. Everything else follows.

Handling 1 / 4

The foundation everything else is built on.

On a track build, suspension isn't a cosmetic decision — it's the single most impactful modification you can make. A quality coilover setup gives you independent adjustment of spring rate, damping, and ride height. That means you can tune to the track, not just accept what Honda gave you.

What You Get

  • Independent height and damping adjustment front and rear
  • Significant improvement in corner entry stability and balance
  • Eliminates understeer tendency under aggressive driving
  • Street drivability retained with proper setup — these aren't race-only setups

What to Expect

Budget time for proper alignment after install — this is non-negotiable. You'll want a corner weight session if you're serious about lap times. Expect the car to feel planted in a way it never has before. The difference on corner entry is transformative.

Engine 2 / 4

Keep it fed under sustained load.

Track driving puts sustained demands on the engine that street driving never does. Back-to-back laps, high ambient temperatures, and extended high-RPM pulls all stress the intake system. Engine modifications ensure the K20C1 has access to cooler, denser air when it matters most.

What You Get

  • Cooler intake charge temperatures under sustained track use
  • Sharper mid-range throttle response where track driving lives
  • Increased induction sound — you hear the engine working
  • No tune required, immediate bolt-on benefit

What to Expect

On a street drive you'll notice the sound and feel improvement immediately. On track, the benefit compounds over a session — the engine stays sharper lap after lap. It's not a dramatic horsepower gain, but it's a real one where it counts.

Exhaust 3 / 4

Let it breathe out as well as in.

A less restrictive exhaust system complements intake work and adds meaningful character to a track-spec FL5. At the limit on back-to-back laps, every efficiency gain compounds — and a proper cat-back makes the car sound exactly as serious as the build beneath it.

What You Get

  • Reduced exhaust backpressure under sustained high-RPM driving
  • Aggressive exhaust note that reinforces the track intent of the build
  • Stainless or titanium construction handles heat cycles from track use
  • No tune required for cat-back systems

What to Expect

The exhaust is the finishing touch on this build — not the starting point. Get the suspension dialed in first. The exhaust payoff is amplified once the chassis is sorted and the engine is breathing properly.

Aero & Body 4 / 4

Function first. Form follows.

On a track build, aero earns its place differently than on a show car. Every piece here either manages airflow, reduces weight, or both. Carbon fiber wing decks and canards aren't decorative on a car being pushed at the limit — they're doing real work.

What You Get

  • Real downforce contribution from properly positioned aero
  • Weight reduction over OEM painted plastic components
  • Carbon fiber construction handles track heat cycles without fading
  • OEM mounting points — no permanent modification required

What to Expect

Aero is the last thing you add to a track build, not the first. Once the suspension is dialed and the engine is sorted, these pieces close out the package. The car will look the part and perform it.
